The Department of Economics at Universidad de los Andes in Bogotá, Colombia, seeks to fill two tenure-track positions. One opening is in the area of Macroeconomics or Finance broadly defined (international finance, applied macroeconomics, macroeconomic theory, etc.). The other opening is for any area in economics.
Candidates must show promise of outstanding scholarly achievement and either have or expect to receive a Ph.D. within the first year of appointment. Special attention will be paid to candidates with an established research agenda. All appointees are expected to engage in research and to teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Applicants should be proficient in Spanish. All applicants should submit a resume and at least one research paper, and should also arrange for submission of three letters of recommendation.
We will begin reviewing applications on October 1st, 2013; the submission deadline is November 30. We will be interviewing candidates in January at the ASSA meetings in Philadelphia.
Candidates that would prefer to hold the interview at the LACEA/LAMES conference in Mexico City in November should state in their application that this is the venue where they would like to hold the interview and submit applications by October 20.
