The Department of Economics at Universidad de los Andes invites applications for Visiting Professorships in Economics. Key Details:
- Positions Available: At least two visiting positions.
- Academic Term and Duration: Standard appointments are for one academic year, starting in August 2027. However, we welcome proposals for shorter or longer arrangements, as well as an earlier start date in January 2027. If you prefer a January start, please submit your application early and clearly state this preference in your cover letter. The department intends to maintain these visiting positions on an ongoing basis from 2027 onward.
- Fields of Interest: Open to all fields of economics and econometrics.
- Requirements: Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in Economics or related fields and maintain an active research agenda.
- Expectations: Visiting professors will conduct frontier research, teach specialized undergraduate or graduate courses, deliver at least one departmental seminar, and actively engage in the academic life of the department.
- Language of Instruction: Courses can be taught in either English or Spanish.
- Compensation & Benefits: Remuneration will be scaled based on a teaching load of one to three courses per year—by mutual agreement. In accordance with Colombian labor laws, the contract includes full health insurance affiliation.
