Requirements

Students attending the International Summer School should hold an undergraduate degree or be in the advance stages of undergraduate studies in economics. The courses of the International Summer School requires knowledge on Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Statistics and Mathematics similar to the following books:
Microeconomics: Nicholson, W. (2002) Microeconomic Theory, Eight Edition, South-Western, Thomson Learning (NIC).
Macroeconomics: Romer, D.(2001) Advanced Macroeconomics, Second Edition, McGraw-Hill.
Statistics: Introduction to the Theory of Statistics, A. Mood, F. Graybill, D. Boes, McGraw-Hill
Mathematics: Calculus, James Stewart, fourth edition, Brooks/Cole.
Duration
The duration of the International Summer School depends on the number of courses the students decide to attend. In that respect, the minimum duration is approximately 2 weeks, if the student only takes one course.

Housing costs
In Bogota there are different types of housing:
• Homestay: This is a very appealing option for those students who really want to get to know our family culture. Moreover, it is a good way to interact in Spanish and practice our language. You will usually get a room for yourself and two meals a day. The monthly fee for this option may vary between 135 and 270 dollars.
• Rented room: This is a house adapted for students who want to live together and share their experiences. Depending on the place it might include meals and/or laundry. The monthly fee for this option may vary between 200 and 400 dollars.
• Apartment: There are small furnished apartments you can find in La Candelaria. These apartments are cozy and suited for one person. The monthly fee is between 320 and 640 dollars.
Feeding costs
For a student; the approximate costs are
• Breakfast: The price of a breakfast is between 2.5 and 6 dollars daily.
• Lunch: The price of a lunch oscillates between 4 and 7 dollars daily.
• Dinner: The price of a dinner oscillates between 4 and 7 dollars daily.
Transport costs
There are different types of public transport in Bogota:Taxi, bus or TransMilenio.
• Taxi: The price of a taxi is between 2 and 8 dollars per route.
• Bus: The tariff is 0.6 dollars approximately.
• TransMilenio: The tariff is 0.8 dollars approximately.
